Law Enforcement

Law Enforcement is one of the best if not biggest help provided by the government. Law Enforcement makes sure that no civilian is above the law. As citizens of the United States we are protected by the constitution and enforced by law enforcement. Within the name itself, the job’s duty is listed. Under the law, we have departments such as the Police, State Police, Sheriffs and other departments to protect us. As the constitution states our rights and laws, law enforcement officers serve to enforce and protect our rights.

The duties and responsibilities of a law enforcement officer depend mostly on that branch or department’s in which the officer serves in. The government pays for the operations and resources of which law enforcement departments use. Federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), conduct at a federal level and handle national and serious crimes. On the other hand, local departments sort out local issues and crimes broken in the county or city.  Law Enforcement’s funds rely highly on the state and federal government. Law enforcement departments and agencies help protect their nation and their local county for a safe tomorrow.

To conclude this topic, law enforcement departments and agencies take a large part into making sure that no one is above the law. Without the safe hands of these departments and officers, havoc and chaos would take over the nation and our lives as we know it. In order to receive support and help, we must abide by the laws of the constitution, and show our support to those who enforce the laws.

  1. While I have the utmost respect for most law enforcement officers and there agencies. However, in todays world when a law enforcement officer approaches a citizen, skepticism is no longer just in the officers mind but now it is in the thoughts of the citizen. Law enforcement is a dangerous career where the officer must be on alert to any hazard that could occur during even a normal traffic stop. Sadly, this is the exact same way citizens are feeling towards law enforcement. In Wisconsin recently, the sheriffs department put bumper stickers on the back of their police vehicles that read, "In God We Trust." So has it come to this, that we must put a sign out for others to recognize our decency? In that case, put them on the front of the vehicles so that I can see it in my rear-view mirror if I get pulled over. Perhaps we too ought put a sign in our vehicles so that we aren't mistaken for criminals. On Saturday nights as I drive home from my grown daughters board-game nights, I could place a sign that reads, "The Lord Loves Saturdays Nights." In this way, I could be trusted even if I was actually a mad-man under my mask of femaleness. I support our law abiding law enforcement officers. I just wish that the good guys didn't have to stand up for themselves because of the bad seeds in Blue.

  2. I would not say that law enforcement are the best. How about those who sacrificed their lives for their country. Officers, especially the novice, needs more training than just going to the program. The reason why the killings of Blacks continue, it is because the new young officers are scared of their own shadows. For instance, they would say the person tries to run them over. However, some of them are doing an amazing job. Congress needs to look into account of why these killings of unarmed black males keeps getting killed. They need to take actions and put the bad cops away.

  4. I wouldnt say our law enforcement is the best but I will say we do need them to keep order. The problem is the police have so much power to do whatever they like. This is what is causing hate crimes of police brutality
