The school system in America

The school systems within America have been  very controversial . The government supports and helps prosper most of the school system.
For example, you’re not allowed to drop out of school until you’re around the age of 16. A group of people think it’s as best right now, yet another group may think it’s not good, and only makes our kids less educated. The country I grew up in, Iraq, was very heavy about the education kids earned. The tests we took during my time, there were no multiple choice, and the student  had to write out the answer. Also, the amount of homework could keep you up all night. Nowadays, the education system is not as bad as it was in my time, but it’s still harder than the American education system. As a whole, Iraq’s school system didn’t have the amount of sport options or physical options that an American kid can participate in. Playing soccer, or any other sports during school in Iraq happened only in a blue moon. In America, Physical Education is a course some schools get every day, mostly every other day.
There is a positive side to the American school system. Also, the amount of sports afterschool is amazing, my kid participates in his wrestling team and he’s been doing wrestling for 2 years now, and only enjoys it. I believe this may be one of the reason that America has a very good foundation in sports, due to the early age that most kids began playing a sport. Most range from 5-8 which is a perfect age to begin a sport and maybe dominate in the long run.

On the other hand, the transportation system within the American school system is very good. It’s very good as it’s funded usually by the government, from the tax payer’s money. The amount of buses, the condition of the buses, and overall the transportation is usually smooth. Letting my kids go off at the bus, I can be safe that they will reach school safely, most importantly.
In Iraq, it was a whole different scenario. The buses sometimes didn’t even come on time, the amount of kids in one bus was horrible, and the condition of the buses was very bad, and lastly, It costs around $50 a month for a child .
Another topic to look at is the food within the schools. The food served within the schools in America is usually always different from day to day, which is good, but there’s a negative side to it. The food served isn’t the best for our kids.  Despite the fact that the parents pay for food, kids can just use the money to spend it on snacks, and not real food. In Iraq, there is no cafeteria, each kid must bring his/her own food.
Overall, in this blog post I compare US school system and Iraq's school system.
I believe the school system of America is very controversial and there’s a lot of way to look at it. In conclusion, the government helps keep the schools in check, and maintains the school system. Therefore US school system better than Iraq's system.

  1. Some people drop out of school before they turned 16. These people happens to live in the project house where the government do not care what they do with their lives. Parents have the options to give their children nutritional food if they do not like the school food
